To blog or not to blog

I am the first to admit that I am the worst blogger in the history of blogging. My inconsistency is gross, my inspiration is lacking, and my dedication is questionable. But I still can’t let go. I was having a discussion with my husband recently and I said to him that words are the way to my heart. Obviously actions are important but there is just something so great about expressing feelings and thoughts through words. I just love words okay. Which was always the reason for starting my blog. But then I started dedicating more time to Instagram which became my number one love. It still is in a…

Ways to have a conversation about your mental health

Anyone who suffers with a mental illness knows how hard it can be to open up about it, to start a conversation and to put the words together to let someone know exactly how you’re feeling. My Experience with 13 Reasons Why S2

I never really understood trigger warnings, I mean I understood the importance and purpose of them, but I had never experienced any sort of trigger when watching or reading anything with a trigger warning, so I felt like I didn’t completely understand, until yesterday. I was the biggest fan of 13 Reasons Why season 1 and even told my husband when I started season 2 that I think it is my all-time favourite show. I loved how real it was and how it tackled serious issues that are often never shown, or if they are, are watered down in a typical high school movie where a girl gets bullied and…

    You Know What Anxiety Is?

Anxiety is describable but indescribable at the same time. Anxiety feels like there is something that isn’t quite right, but you don’t know what that something is. Anxiety is noisy and busy. Anxiety is making a small mistake at work and not being able to stop thinking about it the whole day, wondering if your boss is pissed or thinks you’re completely useless. Anxiety is beating yourself up for saying something that you think is silly or for doing something awkward. Anxiety is worrying about yesterday, today and tomorrow. Anxiety is wanting to go out but wanting to go home once you’re there. Anxiety is trying to control everything, even…

    Taking time out

When was the last time you took some time out? Besides December because that doesn’t really qualify as the most relaxing holiday does it? I am collaborating with Travelstart to help you make the most of the SA public holidays in 2018 and if you use the holiday cheat sheet I am sharing with you, you will have more than enough time to make it a proper holiday and book a flight to Cape Town, or wherever it is that you have been wanting to go. The last time I went on holiday for pleasure was almost three years ago, it was for my honeymoon and it was amazing. But…
